NGN firmly believe that nurture has the power to change life outcomes for our most vulnerable children and young people. By encouraging nurture students to build their emotional resillience, social skills, to engage with their peers and communities and to take pride in their achievements, we prevent the socially excluded child from becoming a socially excluded adult.

Furthermore, in this time of economic constraint, research has shown that nurturing is one of the most cost-effective methods of early intervention for young people with a range of social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. According to the London Borough of Enfield, the price of running a place in a nurture group is £5,500 per child per year - three times less expensive than full time LA support.

As evidenced in numerous Ofsted, Estyn and HMIE reports, nurture is a highly effective form of early intervention which has been proven to reduce the number of permanent exclusions at both primary and secondary school, and which can raise both the attainment and aspirations of those most at risk of social exclusion in adult life.
